「我從哪裡來?」
「我的家族在這片水域生存了幾十年,從未離開過。」
「什麼才算是『從外而來』?」
「我的祖先來自遙遠的地方,實驗人員歷代交叉配種,我才在這裡誕生。」
若以引入的時間軸來界定身份,某些物種將永遠被標註為外來者。「原生」與「外來」之間,似乎橫亙著一道權力與控制的壁壘。
在這件作品中,我引入了吳郭魚/口孵非鯽(Oreochromis spp.)的檔案圖像,並結合科研歷史脈絡,構築出一個荒謬而怪異、彷彿來自另一個演化維度的擬態混種,祂屬於混種殘片系統下的 Technotila (科技殖魚屬)模組;測量線垂吊著螢光假餌和魚卵狀的身軀,隨著觀眾的經過不斷顫動與閃爍,像激起一次基因記憶的重組;裝置震動時,主詩句會如低頻語言般投射於空氣中,似魚的聲音無法翻譯,只能被感知。
“Where do I come from?”
“My family has survived in these waters for decades. We've never left.”
“What does it mean to be 'from elsewhere'?”
“My ancestors came from distant lands. Through generations of crossbreeding by researchers, I was born here.”
If identity is defined along the axis of introduction time, certain species will forever be labeled as alien. Between native and invasive, there appears an invisible boundary—enforced by systems of power and control.
This work draws on archival imagery of mouthbrooding tilapia (Oreochromis spp.), interlaced with scientific breeding histories to construct a grotesque and absurd entity—one that seems to hail from an alternate dimension of evolution. This pseudo-hybrid belongs to the genus Technotila, a techno-implanted lineage nested within the Hybrid Fragment System. Measuring lines suspend fluorescent lures and egg-like forms that flicker and tremble in response to passing viewers, as though triggering a re-sequencing of genetic memory. As the structure vibrates, a central poetic verse is projected in subsonic frequencies—resembling the untranslatable sounds of fish, not to be understood but sensed.
